October/November Busy Months for Dalcorp Racing/AREA 51

Dalcorp Racing and AREA 51 will be running at full throttle over the next several weeks with a wide variety of activities and racing events on the schedule. On October 18th and 19th, the race team will be at "The Battle of the Imports" race in Fontana, running both the Cobalt and the Manx. Then, the following Sunday, October 26th, we'll be at Irwindale Dragstrip for the "Hot VW's Drag Day and Car Show." AJ Nocita (and hopefully Pete Selders) will be racing that event, which is one of our favorite VW races of the year. On October 27th, we are very excited to have Don Weberg and Garage Style Magazine in the house to photograph AREA 51 for an upcoming issue of this unique publication. We'll give you the date when it will hit the newsstands as soon as it's available to us.

After all that action, it's on to November and one of our favorite events of the year: "The Los Angeles County High School Career Day" at Pomona. Held on Wednesday the 12th, it's the kick off event for the NHRA Powerade World Finals, running November 13-16th. We'll be making an exhibition run in front of nearly 10,000 high school students who really get into the event! Erica loves putting on a show for the kids and lets it all hang out, starting with one of her "John Force" burnouts. Here are a couple of pictures from last years event...

After the career day activities, the GNP Cobalt will be taken over to the GM Performance Parts booth where it will be on display for the entire four days of the Powerade event. We hope those of you attending the race will stop by and say hello.

Following the career day activities, it's back to the shop Wednesday afternoon to host a meet and greet with Robin Jackson and his drag racing tour group from the UK and Blueprints 4 Travel. These are some REAL drag racing fans coming all the way from England to watch drag racing, USA style! It will be fun sharing our love for the sport with our new friends from across the pond and to have them share their experiences with us. Visit their website to view their itinerary.

On the weekend of November 22 and 23rd, it's back to Fontana for the IDRC event. We had the car to win the race last year, but the Cobalt made a little too much power and we smoked the tires in the semi's. We'd love to finish the year with a win, so we'll be pulling out all the stops with all three cars. Be sure to stop by and say hi if you're out at the track at any of the events. We'd love to see you there!
