The "Wild Man" Calls it Quits. Irwindale favorite says "My life's work is complete."

When most of us 'round these parts think of Pete "Wild Man" Gallup, we think of him coming off the starting line in his blown Chevelle, wheels in the air and the engine on the red line.  The other side of  the "Wild Man" is a sensitive, caring, see-it-to-the-end educator, husband and father. Friends and family gathered at AREA 51 to pay tribute to Pete (and roast him a bit) and to celebrate his life with the Duarte district along his many accomplishments and successes. The most moving moment of the evening came during Pete's address to his co workers, family and friends when he said, "My life's work is complete."  How many of us will be able to say that when we get to the end of our journey.  Congratulations, Pete!  Keep those wheels in the air!!
Pete "Wild Man" Gallup and Erica Nocita going at it on
a Thursday night at Irwindale. Who knew there was also an
educator in that car!

AJ and Kimberly ready for the evening.

Victor and "Tacos La Paloma" put on a great Mexican
feast.  So good!

Peter, left, making sure every thing's going ok. Watchin'
things til the very end.

Peter being "roasted and toasted."  He enjoyed
every minute...

Pete with his final words and comments...a very
moving time for all of us.

...and a standing "O"

The "Wild Man" even brought out his Chevelle to give
his co workers a look at the other side of Mr. Peter Gallup.
There were some confused looks on a lot of faces!

Pete loves putting on a show...he had 'em revved up!

Thanks for the many years of service to our community,
Pete.  But you will always be "Wild Man" to us!
Congratulations on a job well done.
