Dalcorp at Irwindale for 2nd Summit Race of the Year

On Sunday, May 4th Dalcorp Racing was at the 2nd event of the year for the Summit Racing Series at Irwindale, California. Erica, driving her 2005 Chevy Cobalt and AJ in the '64 Chevelle took out some heavy hitters on race day and put on a great show for the fans. Both cars were running consistent numbers and ironically almost the same numbers! The conditions were tough and the track was hot, hitting almost 135 degress by eliminations. The Cobalt and the Chevelle ran mid 6.70's all day and even in the heat, showed their consistency. Erica was dialed in at 6.77 and in the first round ran right on her number and then came back to run a 6.78 in second round only to lose by a few thousandths. AJ was on the same track, running 6.74 on a .72 dial. He took out one of the heavy hitters in the class first round, tree'd a his next victim in the second round before going "red" in the third. It was his first ever red light in competition and needless to say, he wasn't happy. But that's why they don't hand the trophy out until the end!
I want to thank all of our supporters; Good Neighbor Pharmacy, Barney's and The Only Place in Town, BG Oil, Chicago Title Insurance and Chris Shevlin, and of course, GM Racing and Chevrolet. This ECOtec-powered Cobalt has become an awesome bracket car; we can't wait until our next time at the track!

Thanks also to all of our friends and crew who helped out last Sunday. Debbie and I had to be away on business so everyone jumped in and did a great job! Pato, Andy, "Big Jim", Steve Warner, Brian, Lauren, Lindsay and Casey...you guys were fantastic! Maybe we should go away more often?
